Promont House Museum

Promont House is a Victorian mansion circa 1865 and the former home of John M. Pattison, Ohio's 43rd Governor. It is currently owned and operated by The Greater Milford Area Historical Society.
The museum features period furnishings, a reference library, changing exhibits, and a gift shop.  Docent-led or self-guided tours are available during our normal museum hours of 1:30 PM - 4:30 PM Friday to Sunday.  Tour arrangements for educational groups and groups of ten or more can also be made by appointment.  Please contact us at least two weeks in advance of your desired tour date so that we can arrange for volunteers to assist you.
In order to maintain the integrity of the museum on the National Register of Historic Places, the GMAHS has chosen not to alter the structure of the home. As a nationally recognized historic site, it is exempt from the Americans with Disabilities Act. A tour of Promont includes three levels and the tower of the mansion. A "virtual tour" presentation is available to those who can navigate the short flight of steps at the front or rear of the house, and a photo album of the interior is also available.
